Waiting on a Bail

A Satire

Chad Stevens grew up sheltered, lacking the streets smarts and social skills to recognize the manipulation skill of the drug dealer he's related to. After having his savings emptied by his brother, he is left to start over, knowing it will happen all over again. To keep from telling his mother this happened, he lies and asks his best friend, Anne to help him get out of it before he's caught.

 

He is the only one who doesn't know the real reason why his brother is in prison or why Anne wanted to move in with him in the first place. To help her get to where she wants to go, she insists that he starts getting a social life in hopes to save her own.

 

As he starts understanding more of the world his mother sheltered him from, the more he endangers himself to the drug dealer he calls "brother".
